Other Information:

Our adults are mature and are 4+ years old. Height averages between 13-16 inches tall and weight ranges between 50-75 lbs. Our pigs live an active lifestyle and are fed well. They eat a healthy balanced diet consisting of organic miniature pig pellets and fresh veggies.

Please understand that we will not guarantee the adult size of your pigletWhat determines eventual size greatly depends on many factors including genetics, diet, exercise and the conditions in which your pig is kept.

Height and body structure is controlled by genetics. Weight is not. It is important that you feed your pig the recommended amounts. Pigs always want extra food. They do not have a "shut of valve" in their bodies. They will eat themselves sick if they are allowed. Keeping your pig on a proper diet is imperative for a healthy pig and longevity. An overweight pig is similar to an overweight human, it can cause bad joints, depression, fat blindness, a shorter lifespan, etc.

South Georgia Miniature Pigs is a private owned farm and we are not opened to the public. However, we will schedule visits for families who have a deposit in place. Scheduled visits start at 5 weeks of age. We do not schedule visits prior to 5 weeks. It is important the mothers are able to bond without distractions or stress. Piglets less than 5 weeks of age are fragile and more susceptible. We take biological hazard precautions very seriously to ensure the health and well-being of our pigs and piglets.

Terms and Conditions of Purchase:

South Georgia Miniature Pigs reserves the right to refuse business. We have the responsibility to ensure appropriate placements. If we feel that the placement is not appropriate or suitable for any reason, we will refuse sale. We have a responsibility to place our pigs in a secure, permanent home that will mutually benefit both the pig and the prospective owners.

Deposits made to South Georgia Miniature Pigs are non-refundable unless the death of your piglet occurs within our care, prior to going home. Under that rare and unfortunate circumstance, you will be given the options of choosing another piglet at an equal or lesser value or to be refunded in full with no replacement pig.

Please understand that communication is very important during the process. We ask that all families keep an open form of communication at all times, especially if you choose to be placed on our waiting list. Once piglets are born, we will begin contacting families in the order in which they were place on the waiting list. If you are contacted multiple times through many different forms such as a call, message or email and we do not receive a response from you within one week, we will send a final notice that your place is being set aside, until you are able to respond. We will then move forward with the next family. Please understand that we have an obligation to be fair to the families who have kept communication open and available. We will not have ours or any others time wasted.

Once your pig leaves our care and you take possession and accept ownership of your pig, we will not be responsible or held liable to cover any additional expenses or veterinary bills obtained after your pig goes home. When your pig leaves our care and goes home with you, it becomes your pig and your responsibility.

In the event that you are no longer able to care for your pig due to a life change, please notify us and we will gladly accept your pig back into our care, if we have the extra room and are able to at that time or we will help you to re-home your pig. Be advised that when surrendering your pig back into our care, there will be no reimbursement of any kind.

Our pigs are not sold under a sales contract, written agreement or guarantee of any kind. Our past purchasers are our best references and we will be more than happy to provide as many past references as you'd like. We can also provide our veterinarians information to verify quality of care.
